In the hamlet of San Jorge, San Antonio, Tolima, Elías Huelgos and his wife Nubia Medina settled on a barren, house-less plot of land with their six children. A farm they named El Espejo, now known as Las Girasoles.
They started from nothing, growing coffee that had to be sold green at whatever price they could get. But Elías believed the land could produce something exceptional, and the family shifted toward high-quality specialty coffee. That bet paid off in 2010, when they ranked among the top entries at Expo Especiales proof that their coffee, and their vision, were only getting better.
Today, every cup of Las Girasoles reflects that same commitment: not just coffee, but a legacy built for generations to come.
