The GATUKUZA Coffee Washing Station started operations in 2008 became a salvation for coffee farmers in Burundi. It became immensely popular in the region and is among the top 10 companies coffee producers in Burundi.
The Gatukuza Coffee Washing Station is located at Gatukuza village, in the Ngozi Province, and lies at 1,750m above sea level.
Since the opening of the Washing Station in 2008, the company has exported numerous containers of Arabica Green Coffee; both specialty as well as commercial grade. The Gatukuza Coffee Washing Station is a big unit with high production capacities and produces amazing coffee with high notes varying from 85 to 90 points. In fact, the station has won the BURUNDI CUP OF EXCELLENCE 2019 with 90.13 points.
The specialty coffee produced at GATUKUZA Coffee Washing Station comes from farmers from different villages surrounding the washing station range in altitudes between 1,750 m and 1,850m, and the farmers are grouped in different associations all which form a big confederation known as NKORERA NZOGUHEMBA.
