I took the Barista Skills foundation course at Cypher and it was honestly one of the most enjoyable learning experiences I’ve had. Danilo (aka Dan) and Michelle were amazing, super patient and incredibly accommodating. They spent the whole day with me, answered my million questions without making me feel like a coffee interrogator, and we ended up having really interesting chats about everything from beans to brew ratios :)
The course itself is a perfect balance between theory and hands-on practice. I loved learning how to set the grinder properly, pull espresso shots, texture milk for cappuccinos, and even attempt some latte art masterpieces. The practical part was definitely my favorite, but even the theory was engaging and easy to follow, not the kind that makes your brain need a double espresso to survive.
They also covered important stuff like health and safety, customer service, and the basics of how an espresso bar actually runs, which made the whole experience feel real and useful, not just for fun.
If you’re thinking about getting behind a coffee machine, whether for work or just to impress your partner or friends, I couldn’t recommend this course more. Five stars all the way, and yes, I now judge every espresso I meet in the wild ;)
