In the verdant highland village of Almazanaha, in the Haraaz area, about 70 km west of Snaa capital of Yemen, lives a 42-year-old farmer, Jammel Al-Mazanai . Jammel owns a piece of land that is about 2500 meters above sea level. Due to the high altitudes of the land, the family is able to produce this distinctive type of coffee, which demands the highest price on the international market. The Maznaai family has been cultivating coffee in the steep and terraces for more than 80 years using traditional methods. The coffee is grown naturally without artificial fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides. Due to the shortage of water, the irrigation of the coffee plants mainly relies on rainfall.
