The “Mantiqueira de Minas” region is known for its beautiful mountains, climate, and its thermal water reservoir; famous for its therapeutic properties. The region has the perfect combination of climate and soil fertility that promotes the production of high-quality coffee. The coffee has a unique cup profile: balanced cup, with complex flavors such as chocolate, fruity, citrus and caramel; full-body and sweetness.
In 1991 José Marciano leased São José from his father, who at the time used it to raise cattle. As time passed, he bought the farm and began planting coffee. At first, he found it very difficult because everything had to be done manually. However, his love for coffee and the opportunities he saw at the time pushed him to carry on, especially as the region is perfect for growing coffee. José is married to Vera Lúcia Marciano and has two children: Pamela Eduarda Marciano and Diego Marciano, and the whole family is involved with farm work.
