It’s been more than a century since the Contreras and Pimentel families began coffee cultivation in Finca Monte Verde in 1915, close to El Chingo volcano in Santa Ana, El Salvador.
Yesterday as today, they continue harvesting the best fruits of the Arabic variety of Bourbon and Pacas, which get their distinct flavor from washing, honey and natural processing to highlight its citrus and floral flavors, great fragrance and natural sweetness. In the past year, they have introduced new varieties like red and yellow icatu and Anacafe 14.
Today, the Contreras Valdez family has a collection of medium and small farms that sell their products in domestic and international markets without compromise in the age-old quality they came to be known for while maintaining the highest levels of sustainability, environmental and social corporate responsibilities.
