Loja, located south to the Ecuadorian Andes, covers vast territories that stretch from coastal plains to the oriental
foothills of the mountain range. Its broad topography encompass a wide variety of climatic floors and ecosystems in the Andes. Among those are valleys that fall 1,200 - 2,000 meters above sea level, giving birth to unique conditions for specialty coffee.

With the continued growth of specialty coffee production over the past 5 years, Loja has experienced a revival with 12,000 hectares of production, not only with original varietals but with popular ones from other regions like Geisha and SL28.
