FARM HISTORY
Coffee has been growing in the village of Aljidan for over 400 years. Out of around 50 coffee farming families, 34 work with Qima Coffee. The largest farm is 440m2 whilst the smallest is 22m2. The village is characterized by its hot yet rainy summers and bitterly cold winters. Aside from growing coffee, farming families here also grow vegetables, corn, and qat. Some families work in handcrafting agricultural tools such as ploughs and axes. Women work in the delicate art of embroidery, sewing intricate details onto tools and traditional jambiya belts.
