Just in case you were wondering why this amazing coffee is named "1930”, that is because Arabica Coffee arrived in Burundi in the 1930s and has been the country’s primary export ever since.
The country has a long tradition of producing fully washed specialty coffee thanks to their infrastructure of washing stations.
Today, the country is home to high-quality coffee cherries and an extremely strict process where by they are first soaked in water then remove floaters. Afterwards, the cherries are spread to dry for 2 days while staff sorts out all the immature and overripe cherries. The process is then completed by drying the cherries in the sun on raised tables for a period up to 30 days depending on the availability of sun.
